Coaches & Teachers - Beccles Town Swimming Club

Teachers and coaches at Beccles Kingfishers are all volunteers with a range of experience in swimming and all dedicated to support the club and its swimmers development.

Their continual support poolside is part of what makes the club what it is today. The team of teachers, coaches and helpers help run the different squads the club has to offer from teaching the younger members in the Junior Squad to progressing and coaching the more competitive squads.

The club is also keen to develop their senior swimmers into teachers and coaches.

Has been with the club for over 20 years, starting off as a swimmer before progressing to become head coach. During this time he has guided the club to many successful years and picked up Suffolk Coach of the Year in 2011.

Stuart Long

Level 2 Coach / Teacher

Has been with the club for over 5 years, getting involved when his daughters first joined. He is now a Performance Squad coach helped develop the younger squad swimmers.

Jamie Fenn

Level 2 Coach / Teacher

Has been a teacher at Bungay swimming pool for many years, joining the Teaching/Coaching team at Beccles when his son first joined around 7 years ago and now a Development squad coach.

Mark has recently completed and passed his level 1 in coaching and is now one our new assistant coaches of the Performance Squad and also a Team Manager at our competitions.

Mickey Cooke

Level 2 Coach / Teacher

The longest running member of the club, Mickey has been teaching for the club for over 20 years. He works mainly with the Fledgling and Junior Squads but is known by all and can also be found officiating at local galas.

Dawn Shepherdson

Dawn is an ex swimmer who came poolside again when her daughter and son joined the club. Dawn mainly works with the development of the Junior Squad and also helps out as an official.
